The Bourbon Renaissance in Small Town USA
Kim Huston is president of the Nelson County Economic Development Agency in Bardstown, Kentucky a town proclaimed as the Bourbon Capital of the World. In her 18 years in this position, she has recruited new distilleries to locate in her small town and has happily watched as the industry changed from male domination to one with many powerful women making bourbon history. From working to recruit the  Russian born company Stoli Vodka to locate its  $250 million distillery complex  in Bardstown, to convincing the St. Louis Missouri owners of Rebel Yell that Bardstown had to be the site of their new state of the art distillery, she has  experienced first-hand the new renaissance in this once again popular industry, now with many females in leading roles.
