Session Topic: Music Will Always Be There
Speaker and Artist: Hope MacGregor - Songwriter, Storyteller, Artist, and Army Aviation Veteran
About the Artist:
Hope Macgregor is a songwriter, storyteller, artist, and Army Aviation Veteran. After eight years of active-duty military service, MacGregor started law school. It was during her third semester (with the COVID pandemic in full swing) that her grandmother died, her car broke down, her dog got sick, and her (now ex-) husband ran off with a blonde to Texas. With her father’s encouragement, she picked up her old six-string and started writing songs. What started simply as a way to navigate and heal all that life had thrown at her, songwriting became a passion and a purpose.
Hope's music is a unique blend of Americana, blues, country, and honesty. Her lyrics, melodies, and storylines help the lonely feel less alone and find laughter in life’s heartbreak — her music sounds like home. She’s quickly become one of Jackson’s favorite songwriters and storytellers, performing at The Amp, Hub City Brewing, The Tavern, and other local spots.
In addition to performing around West Tennessee, MacGregor has toured nationally, shared festival bills with Grammy-nominated artists, released two studio albums, and been named one of Jackson’s Most Influential Women in 2025. But if you really want to get to know Hope, just ask her about her beloved yellow lab, Lucy.
You don't want to miss this one, so make your reservations now to attend.
